This is one of the most important topics for users new to LiPo's so we'll cover some those topics here. Before removing a battery from the target chassis for charging, you will want to put on latex or similar shop gloves. The electronic/battery housing collects lead dust. After you have gloves on, make sure the power is switched off, then take a 14 mm socket and remove the bolts holding the deflector in place. Once removed, open the deflector carefully. Unhook the battery from the yellow XT-60 connector.
Now is a good time to wipe down the battery and internals with a disposable shop towel.
Plug the male end of the battery connector into the female end of your LiPo charger while the charger is plugged into your wall socket. Plug the balance charging cable, which is the 5-wire cable on the battery, into the appropriately sized female balance port on the your charger. If you're using the Turnigy B4 charger supplied from Autonomous Alloys, the charger will beep after a few seconds inicating it has detected the battery and has started charging. The charging unit will beep again when the charge is complete.
Note: Never charge LiPo batteries unattended. And if you do, ensure you are charging in a fire safe location.
Always remove your LiPo batteries from the targets when they are not in use. Never leave your batteries plugged in for more than 24 hours, even when the target is turned off. LiPo batteries are finicky and require more attention than most other battery chemistries. It is also recommended that you not store your batteries at full charge. There are optional charging systems in our store and available online that can discharge your batteries to a voltage level optimum for storing.
If an LED has been shot out, follow the steps for replacement. Using latex or similar shop gloves to prevent repeated lead exposure, switch the power off and unbolt the diffuser. Remove the steel shelf in front of the LEDs and set aside. Find the release tab on the connector LED cable and while pressing in, disconnect the broken LED board from the LED cable.
Fit a new LED board on the LED cable's connector until you hear it positively lock. Gently fit the new LED board securely onto the LED shelf. It may be a tight fit, so fitting it in sideways at first may help. Re-fit the steel shelf in front of the LED boards. Ensure all wiring is neat and out of the way, drop a new diffuser into the diffuser slot, then close the deflector ensuring none of the wiring is getting pinched.
